Beairshelle Edmé

Beairshelle Edmé joined the CBS17  team in March 2016 and currently anchors weekend mornings and reports weekdays.

Hailing from the great City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, she welcomes the City of Oaks and the Triangle region as a new home.

Prior to joining CBS North Carolina, Beairshelle worked in Dayton, Ohio, with sister station, WDTN-TV and WBDT-TV.  She has also worked as an anchor and reporter in the Siouxland tri-state region of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota with KMEG-TV and KPTH-TV.

She holds a deep passion for politics and journalism. Beairshelle (pronounced “Beer-shell”) fortified that interest while interning with NBC Universal’s “Meet the Press,” and CNN’s “State of the Union” and “Reliable Sources.” Her time at CNN’s Washington Bureau came at the critical point of the 2012 Presidential Election.

Four years later, Beairshelle is excited to again be covering political headlines during another major campaign and to give you, the viewers, your daily news.

“It’s a privilege to have people place their trust in us and to tune in to watch our newscasts,” she said. “I want to live up to the expectations viewers have set. And that means providing people with the information they need to know and to hold our leaders and the powerful accountable.”

Beairshelle hopes to hear from you! Reach out to her by emailing her at or through Facebook  or Twitter.

Beairshelle is an alumna of Loyola University of Maryland. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
