FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) -- Fire crews extinguished a large brush fire Saturday evening near the Walmart off Judd Parkway in Fuquay-Varina, fire officials said.
The fire began around 6:15 p.m. and was active as of 7:30 p.m. behind the store at 1051 East Broad Street, fire officials said.
Officials said the fire was "relatively large" and that crews used about 4,000 gallons of water during efforts to extinguish the fire.
Crews used three engines, two brush trucks and a tanker truck to fight the fire.
By 8:40 p.m., the last of the fire crews left the scene after the fire was extinguished.
No one was injured and no structures were threatened by the fire, officials said.
