Ex-NC State Women's Basketball operations director under investigation, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- The ex-director of operations director for North Carolina State's Women's Basketball is under investigation for possible embezzlement of funds, officials say.

Authorities obtained a search warrant on Feb. 16 for the office of Michael Murray, who officials say has since left his job at the university.

N.C. State University Police said they searched the office after they "were notified by N.C. State University Internal Audit of a possible embezzlement of funds."

N.C. State University Police would only comment that an investigation is underway.

Fred Hartman with N.C. State University Athletics told CBS North Carolina that Murray is "no longer with staff" and would not comment further.
