Fayetteville man charged with child sex crimes that lasted nearly 2 years, involved 8-year-old

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) - Fayetteville police have arrested and charged a man with multiple child sex crimes that occurred over a nearly two-year span and involved an 8-year-old child.

Michael Wilson, 31, of Fayetteville, is facing charges of first-degree sex offense, attempted first-degree sex offense, sexual activity by substitute parent, first-degree kidnapping, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.


Police said the crimes were committed between December 2014 and August 2016. The victim was 8 years old when the crimes first began.

Wilson was taken into custody at the Cumberland County Courthouse and is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.
