WILLOW SPRING, N.C. (WNCN) - Separate fires damaged homes in Wake and Johnston counties on Saturday afternoon.
The first blaze was reported just before 1:40 p.m. at 3456 Sanders Road near Willow Spring, according to Johnston County officials.
Three different fire departments are on the scene. It appears that a water hose is blocking a road in the area.
No injuries have been reported.
About 15 minutes later a fire broke out at a Wendell home at 601 South Hollybrook Road, Wendell fire officials said.
Two elderly residents and their pet managed to get out of the home. The fire started upstairs in the house and was extinguished.
The Red Cross has been sent to both fires and are helping the residents of the Wendell fire find a place to stay.
