FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) - A motorcyclist was seriously injured after crashing his bike head-on into a pickup truck on a curvy road near Fuquay-Varina Tuesday night, North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers said.
The call for the wreck came in just before 9 p.m. According to authorities, Brad Brownell, 40, was riding his motorcycle on Mt. Pleasant Road when he cross the center line on a curve and slammed head-on into a pickup truck. Brownell and his motorcycle ended up pinned under the truck, troopers said.
Brownell suffered a broken back and facial lacerations in the crash.
Speed and alcohol were not factors, troopers said.
Brownell was charged with driving while license revoked, no motorcycle license, driving left of center and no liability insurance.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
