Young Garner mom found dead in ditch was partially exposed, warrant says

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - A young Garner mom who was found dead in a ditch on March 18 was partially exposed and police now have a person of interest, according to search warrants obtained by CBS 17.

Faith Chere Bevan, 24, was found dead in a ditch in the 7800 block of Caddy Road, according to Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison.

Deputies were contacted about a body in the ditch around 7:30 a.m., Harrison said. According to the warrant, Bevan "was found with her shirt pulled up baring both breasts" and the "back waist of her jeans were below her buttock area."

The young mother's cause of death is listed as undetermined pending an autopsy.

Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide and warrants show that there is a person of interest in the case.

CBS 17 will not be naming the person of interest because they have not been charged at this time.

Warrants show that Bevan was witnessed getting into a vehicle driven by the person of interest and that this person admitted to investigators that he had spent time with Bevan in the hours before her death.

The man also told investigators that he sent and received "electronic communications" with the 24-year-old throughout the day. The man did not give investigators permission to search his phone and he deleted all data on that phone warrants show.

Authorities seized the phone from the man and requested a warrant for his Apple iCloud account.

No one has been charged in the case and authorities are asking anyone who saw Bevan Saturday night or early Sunday to contact the sheriff's office at 919-856-6911.
