Goldsboro man took indecent liberties with young girl, deputies say

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) - A Goldsboro man sexually assaulted and took indecent liberties with a young girl over a period of eight years, deputies say.

The incidents took place between 2008 and 2016, according to a Tuesday news release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

"They took place at numerous locations in Wayne County," the news release said.

James Lee Davis Sr., 52, of Deluxe Drive in Goldsboro, is charged with statutory rape of a person who is 13, 14, or 15 years old by a defendant who is at least six years older than the victim, two counts of second degree forcible rape, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child, deputies say.

Davis is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center on a $650,000 bond.
