Man shoots his way into NC McDonald's, robs it

FOREST CITY, N.C. (WSPA) - A McDonald's in Rutherford County was robbed at gunpoint after a man fired his gun into the building's glass to get into the restaurant.

According to Forest City police, the suspect approached an employee in the parking lot of the McDonald's on Wells Drive and tried to force his way into the restaurant around 4:40 a.m. Friday.

Police say the employee was able to make it inside and lock the door before the suspect fired his weapon into the glass and made his way inside.

Once in the restaurant, the man he demanded money at gunpoint.

The suspect was described as a black man 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark colored pants, and dark colored boots.
