Man stole ‘numerous' Newport cartons from Fayetteville store, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) - Fayetteville police are asking for help in identifying a man who they said walked behind the counter of a gas station and stole several cartons of cigarettes.

Around 4:30 a.m. November 26, the suspect walked into the Circle K at 2326 Owen Drive and asked the clerk for a carton of cigarettes, police said.

After asking for the total cost, police said the man then walked behind the counter and grabbed "several cartons" of Newport 100 cigarettes.

The suspect then left without paying.

Fayetteville detectives believe this man may be involved in other crimes across the city.
