Sheriff: Grandfather shoots, kills 19-year-old grandson in Ohio

PAULDING, Ohio (WANE) - The Paulding County Sheriff's Department is investigating a homicide north of Oakwood.

Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers said deputies were called to 15648 Township Road 1037 around 9:38 p.m. Thursday. 

Landers said police were told a grandfather shot his grandson.

Evan A. Holcombe, 19, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead, according to Landers. 

73-year-old William R. Miller II was arrested and taken to the Paulding County Jail on a initial charge of murder. 

Landers said Miller and Holcombe lived together at the home. 

Miller is expected to be arraigned in court Monday. 

No other details were immediately available. 

The incident is under investigation by the Paulding County Sheriff's Department, Paulding County Coroner, and Paulding County Prosecutor's Office.
