ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) - One of two carjacking suspects caught on video after stealing a car at gunpoint last Thursday has been arrested by detectives near Nashville.
Shaun Harris, 20, is charged with aggravated robbery. Police say Harris and an accomplice are the two suspects captured on a dash camera installed in the victim's car.
The carjacking took place Thursday around 9 p.m. outside the victim's apartment on Hickory Hollow Place.
The gunman took the victim's car keys and his 2015 Kia Optima.
When the suspects got in the car and started the engine, the camera started recording their every move.
It captured the suspects stopping to go back to get the victim's phone.
"Hold on dude, stop. I need to get his phone, stop,"one of the suspects demanded.
After getting victim's phone they took off again, but it didn't take long before one of the suspects looked right into the camera.
"Ah get out, get out there's a *** camera in here," he is heard yelling.
Instead of getting out, he threw the camera out the window near the entrance of the apartment complex.
When the victim was walking his dog early Friday morning he found it and that's how they got the video.
"I couldn't believe they would be that dumb enough to throw it out, but thank goodness they did, that's how we end up getting it," the victim, Johny Scoggin, explained.
His wife posted the video online and it quickly went viral.
Police are still looking for a second suspect.
