
Bill Young joins CBS 17 News as co-anchor of the morning and midday newscasts.
He comes to central North Carolina by way of Huntsville, Alabama, where he worked as morning, midday, and primary anchor during his nearly four years at WAAY-TV.
Prior to Huntsville, Bill co-anchored the morning newscast for FOX 25 TV in Oklahoma City.
It was full circle for Bill who began his career at the station a decade earlier working as a fill-in reporter during his senior year at Oklahoma City University.
Bill also worked as a morning anchor in El Paso and Waco, Texas.
A strong believer in community involvement, Bill served on boards of local and national charities and organizations.
Bill is the proud owner of a rescue dog named Pumpkin (she came with the name, but Bill says it fits her personality).
Bill is a self-proclaimed car fanatic, a fan of both college and pro football, and the owner of some 200 neckties and 300 pairs of quirky socks.
