Brea Hollingsworth joined the CBS 17 News team in November 2021.
Prior to that she spent three years in Fort Myers, FL where she covered everything from hurricanes to the Surfside condo collapse in Miami, FL and the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also a recipient of the Radio Television Digital News Association Ed Bradley Scholarship.
Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, FL Brea found her love for journalism at a very young age. She is a proud alumnus of Florida A&M University (Go Rattlers!) and has a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism. While at FAMU Brea served as multimedia journalist and anchor for the award winning television program, “News 20 at Five.”
When she’s not on-air you can catch Brea exploring new restaurants, sipping lattes at the nearest coffee shop or traveling around North Carolina.
