Hayley Fixler

Hayley Fixler joined the CBS 17 News team in August 2021.

Prior to moving to the Triangle, she worked in the Piedmont Triad as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WGHP FOX8. During her time there, she helped break the news of a High Point University student’s hit list, dug into growing violent crime in the area, and advocated for community members.

Before heading south, Hayley was a reporter and anchor at WBND in South Bend, Indiana, focusing on the Michiana area.

There, she covered several national stories, including the aftermath of a shooting at a Michigan courthouse and a carbon monoxide leak and death at a hotel.

She also examined the economic resurgence of the RV industry and the impact on the region.

Hayley was born and raised in the Maryland suburbs, just outside of Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and received her Broadcast Journalism degree from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

Hayley’s passion for news and storytelling has led her all over the world.

She spent time interning at ABC7 in D.C. and working with the political unit at the NBC News Washington Bureau. Hayley also lived in Israel for a short time, where she anchored sports, reported local news and conflict updates for the English-speaking TV station, Israel Broadcasting Authority.

When she’s not reporting, Hayley can be found outdoors, exploring new hiking trails with her rescue dog. She enjoys traveling, martial arts, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time with friends and family.

She would love to hear from you. Feel free to email her to say hi or share a story idea. You can also find her on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook at @HayleyFixlerTV.
