One suspect has been arrested after a brazen armed home burglary was caught on video this past weekend just outside Sanford, deputies said Tuesday.
The break-in happened Saturday around 2:30 p.m. at a home on Carthage Street, officials said.
The home’s occupant was alerted by his home alarm system, which included at least three video cameras.
The thieves, who targeted the home, took two pistols, a safe containing cash and three watches, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Later that same day, deputies were able to track down a vehicle used during the incident, Lee County officials said.
Diandre Nyshawn McLean, 24, of 105 Ruth Ann Lane in Sanford was arrested Saturday soon after the vehicle was found, deputies said.
McLean had been shot in the shoulder and was found at a nearby hospital, officials said.
Lee County officials first released information, including video clips, about the burglary on Sunday.
In the video, a man in a baseball cap can be seen with a gun walking around inside the home.
The man appears to be on a cellphone during part of the burglary as he goes from room to room.
Another man, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, can also be seen carrying at least one item.
The pair can then be seen on an outdoor color camera running along a dirt driveway to a getaway vehicle while carrying items.
Officials said Tuesday they were looking for three suspects.
McLean was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possessing stolen goods.
