16-year-old missing from Clayton group home found safe

A 16-year-old who authorities said went missing from a Clayton group home March 18 was found safe overnight.

Kim Peterson said Saturday her son Isaac Tidwell was found in Goldsboro.

She said he was “cold and hungry” when found.

Peterson said the media attention helped authorities locate her son.

Tidwell was a resident of the Lighthouse group home after being discharged from Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro.

Tidwell walked away from the Lighthouse March 18 into a wooded area, Peterson said.

Peterson lives in New York, but the boy’s grandmother, Carol Campbell, lives in Four Oaks.
