1,759 new COVID-19 cases reported in NC, 31 deaths

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,759 new COVID-19 cases across the state Saturday, slightly higher than Friday and the second highest number since September 4.

With 3 millionth cases approaching, case counts start to creep up but the percent positive has dropped to lowest level since May, 4.5 percent.

Currently, 914 people are hospitalized.

An additional 31 deaths have been reported, making Saturday the fifth day in a row with at least 30 deaths reported. The total number of people who have died due to COVID-19 is now 3,440.
