About 1,500 children receive bikes from Fayetteville’s Bicycle Man

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The annual Bicycle Man giveaway in Fayetteville made the holidays brighter for about 1,500 children this weekend.

Volunteers walked kids through the warehouse on Saturday where they got helmets, clothes, school supplies and of course — a bike.

There was also plenty of free food for the children and their families.

“Well, my favorite color is actually pink, so I picked this bike because its pink actually and it caught my attention,” said Tynasia Lambingham, 9, who came with her mom and grandmother.

Calandra Spencer, the mother of Tatum Spencer, 5, said her daughter was excited to get a new bicycle.

“She’s happy. She is just a little giddy because (TV cameras are) here,” mom said. “She was very happy when she came out and she asked me could she ride it to the car, so I’m going to let her ride it to the car”

This year the organization was able to give out about 1,500 bicycles.
