CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — More Hollywood star power in North Carolina campaigning for Hillary Clinton on Sunday.

Actress Lena Dunham was in Cary Sunday  afternoon for a campaign event.

Comedian and actor Will Ferrell already was in the Triangle on Saturday with Roy Cooper, who is running for governor.

Dunham, creator and star of HBO’s “Girls” series, spoke to supporters on the importance of early voting in North Carolina.

“I think it’s so important to get out early and vote. Not just because it may work better for your schedule. Or because it ensures that you get it done, but also it sends a message to your friends and family,” Dunham said.

“They see you vote. They understand the importance. I really think we can lead by example and that many people who don’t think their voices are going to be heard in the electoral process need to see people they care and respect vote,” she added.

Monday afternoon Dunham will attend an early voting event at UNC Chapel Hill, which also where President Obama will hold an event Wednesday.
