Australian residents return home to find homes and property destroyed


AUSTRALIA (CBS NEWSPATH) – Today, Australian residents returned to their properties northeast of New South Wales.

Resident’s are finding homes and property that have been damaged by the bushfire, as it  continues to rip through the area.

An unidentified resident said, “It’s a bit heartbreaking, yeah, lost everything and only have what they have take and yeah, they’re alive and well, so that’s the main thing.”

According to the Austrailian Broadcasting Coporation, 17,000 acres of land have been destroyed.

The NSW Rural Fire Service says six homes were destroyed and several others damaged.

There is still an emergency warning for Tingha Australia.
