WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (WNCN/WNCT) — Martin County authorities said on Sunday they found a second body after two boaters vanished at a pond near Williamston Saturday.

Martin County Sheriff Tim Manning says crews on Sunday found the body of Mack Goss, 59, of Williamston about 100 feet from where they found the first body on Saturday.

The body of Edward Keel, 58, from Robersonville was found on Saturday after the boat belonging to the men was found with no one aboard.

Both went missing Saturday after going out fishing on a private pond near Williamston on Poplar Point Road.

Manning says sonar and cadaver dogs were used in the search, which was called off Saturday night.

The search continued at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
