The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man wanted on multiple drug charges and their post, and the man’s mugshot, have gone viral.
Charles Dion McDowell, 31, was highlighted as a fugitive on ECSO’s “Wheel of Fugitives” wanted for fleeing, eluding, and violation of probation.

McDowell was caught and now has multiple charges against him including, fleeing/eluding police with lights and sirens active, possession of meth with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver, possession of cocaine with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver Schedule II, possession of controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug equipment.
The Facebook post by the sheriff’s office has more than 235,000 comments, 224,000 shares and 46,000 reactions. Most of those comments are about McDowell’s seemingly huge neck.
McDowell is currently the Escambia County Jail with a $57,000 bond — or as the sheriff’s office put it, he’s in the “GoldStar Hotel.”
