Deputy’s house catches fire; family and K-9 officers saved


HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point fire crews are investigating a fire at a Guilford County Sheriff Deputy’s house.

Fire crews were called to the house on Derby Drive Tuesday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. Part of the house caught on fire as well as the deputy’s SUV in the driveway. The deputy said he was inside the house when he heard a pop outside. He went outside and saw his patrol SUV on fire.

The deputy then saved two K-9s from inside the SUV. The fire spread to the house as the deputy was trying to get help.


The K-9 officers were taken to the vet after the fire.
