NEW ORLEANS (CNN/WGNO) - The parents of an 18-year-old shot to death two weeks ago in New Orleans honored him with a wake like something you may not have seen before.
They set up Renard Matthews in a funeral home sitting upright in a chair in front of a TV. A Boston Celtics game was on - his favorite basketball team.
Matthews' family also made sure he was surrounded by his favorite snack foods and had a video game controller in his hands.
His mother says the high school student usually liked to stay at home, but recently started going outside more to walk his new dog.
He will be buried Tuesday.
