DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Donald Fields, 23, is accused of stabbing his father to death in Durham.

Durham police say an argument over where to place a television set triggered the deadly violence.

CBS North Carolina got a copy of the 911 calls.

Caller: He dying, hurry up.

Operator: Ok sir, tell me exactly what happened.

Caller: I don’t know. I went outdoors. My brother and his son were fighting.

Durham police received two 911 calls from a home on the 3400 block of Marquis Dr. Sunday afternoon.

Caller: He said he’s been stabbed.

Operator: Ok, can he tell you who he was stabbed by?

Caller: Who was he stabbed by? …He was stabbed by his son.

Shortly after the incident, Donald Fields Jr. turned himself in to authorities, he is charged with  murdering his father, 54-year-old Donald Fields Sr.

Monday, the son appeared in court for the first time.  He was held without bond.

Two people connected to the family were in court.

A relative at the home where the incident happened said it’s been tough dealing with her brother’s death.

CBS North Carolina looked in the history of problems  involving police at this home.

The only other incident was back in August of last year. Someone in the home reported a runaway.

Donald Fields Jr. will be back in court July 19.
