Deputies say an intruder was shot by a Travelers Rest homeowner after a break-in.
Greenville County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported shooting around 10 p.m. Monday on Blue Ridge Drive.
Deputies say James Michael Smith Jr., 30, entered the home through a window before he was shot by the homeowner.
Smith had a knife when he broke into the home and threatened the victims’ lives, according to an arrest warrant.
Smith was treated at a hospital.
As of Tuesday morning, he’s in the Greenville County jail.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office charged Smith with first-degree burglary and simple possession of marijuana.
