In November of last year, The Food and Drug Commissioner issued an advisory on the risks of associated with Kratom. 

Two years ago, the Drug Enforcement Agency tried to ban the dietary supplement. 

It has been reported that five million people in the U.S. regularly use Kratom for chronic pain, opiate withdraw, depression and anxiety. 

Wednesday at 11 p.m., CBS 17’s Richard Essex digs into the benefits of Kratom and why the federal government has tried to ban it.
