SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) – Lee County authorities are seeking a Cameron man on charges including attempted murder after a Sanford man was found shot on his porch early Monday morning, according to to the county sheriff’s blog.

Ronald Monta McLaughlin was found wounded on his porch in the 3000 block of Cornsilk Drive in Sanford about 5:30 a.m. Monday and airlifted to UNC Medical Center, Sheriff Tracy Carter wrote.

Deputies have accused Zacharus Jovon Foxx, 34, of 626 Brooks Mangum Rd. in Cameron of the shooting, according to the blog.

He’s charged with attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to the sheriff. The two knew one another, Carter wrote.

McLaughlin was still in critical condition Tuesday, the sheriff wrote.
