RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Two arrests have been made following a Tuesday afternoon shooting at a gas station on New Bern Avenue that left a man dead.

Police said Trayvon Tarique Reams, 18, has been charged with murder and Tia Asia Kemp, 18, has been charged with accessory after the fact in connection with the death of Williams.

Officers arrived on the scene just after 1 p.m. to the EZ WAY gas station at 3700 New Bern Avenue.

When they arrived, police found the victim, Hurebaves Ransom Williams, who was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.

A CBS 17 crew on the scene saw 13 responding vehicles with evidence markers and forensics personnel also present for the investigation that has led to the arrests.

Reams and Kemp were taken to the Wake County Detention Center, according to police.

Arrest warrants from the Wake County Justice Center say Reams shot Williams and then got away in a vehicle with Kemp.

The warrants also state that Kemp tried to hide the vehicle used to get away.

Reams and Kemp have also been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon stemming from an incident that occurred last month.

According to warrants, they assaulted someone with a handgun before stealing $725.

Police have not said what led up to the shooting but they say the shooting was not a random act or road rage.

They are working to find out the relationship between the people arrested and the man who died.
