LILLINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) - A second suspect is in custody in relation to the June 21 murder of a Harnett County man in his own home, according to the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said Jarell Donte Ballentine, 18, of Angier, was taken into custody Monday. Ballentine was wanted for first-degree murder, kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Kyle Jarrett, 28, was found shot to death in his Lillington home on June 21. The Harnett County Sheriff's Office announced July 3 the arrest of 17-year-old Alma Isabel Correa Portillo.
Ballentine is being held in the Harnett County Detention center. He received no bond for the murder charge, and all other charges have a combined bond of $560,000.
His first court appearance is Tuesday morning in the Lillington District Court.
