WILSON, N.C. (WNCN) – A 4-year-old girl was ejected from a car during a rollover accident in Wilson Thursday evening, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The child wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, officials said.

The accident happened around 6:40 p.m. near the 5100 block of Holdens Cross Road in Wilson. The girl’s twin sister and two older brothers were also in the car. Their mother was driving, NCSHP said.

The car ran off the road, the mother overcorrected and hit a culvert, causing the rollover, NCSHP said.

The girl ejected was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Her mother, who should be fine, went with her. The other three children were taken to Wilson Medical Center, the NCSHP said.

All involved suffered minor injuries. NCSHP said the mother showed no signs of impairment. She is charged with several seatbelt charges and failure to maintain lane control.
