RAEFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raeford woman is facing multiple child sex crime charges for incidents involving a teen that occurred earlier this year, according to police.
Caroline McGee Pitts, 72, is charged with one count of statutory rape of a child by an adult, one count of statutory sexual offense by an adult, one count of indecent liberties with a child, one count of crime against nature, and one count of felony child abuse – sexual act.
Police said the crimes occurred between April and August and took place in Pitts’ home in Raeford, as well as in Fayetteville.
The victim is 13 years old, according to police.
Raeford police arrested Pitts on Dec. 23 and she is currently being held in custody under a $500,000 secured bond.
