MEBANE, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities in Mebane are looking for a man last seen on April 25 and last heard from this past Saturday, officials said.
Philip Compton, 35, has been reported missing by his parents who said they last saw him on April 25. His parents said Compton has depression, recently lost a family member and has stopped taking his medication.
Authorities were able to ping his cellphone and found his last location to be an open field in Orange County. Multiple agencies began a search on the ground with ATVs and in the air with the assistance of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. In addition, a K-9 unit was also used to search for Compton.
Neither Compton nor his vehicle was located in the field or nearby.
Compton is known to drive a white BMW with North Carolina registration FKL-4718.
Police said Compton has no family other than the family he lives with who reported him missing. He also has no known acquaintances in the area and his family told police that they have no idea where he would be going.
