One person died in a three-vehicle crash in Fayetteville on Saturday afternoon, police say.
The incident was reported just after 2:50 p.m. along Raeford Road near Hoke Loop Road, Fayetteville police said in a news release.
A passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene, police said.
The crash happened as a woman driving a 2005 Nissan was trying to make a left turn from Raeford Road to Hoke Loop Road when the Nissan was hit by a woman driving a 2003 Ford, police said.
The 2003 Ford was traveling on outbound Raeford Road and then went on to crash into a 2017 Honda, police said.
A passenger in the 2005 Nissan, Doris E. Bryson, 77, of Raeford, died in the crash.
The woman driving the 2005 Nissan, Joann M. McRae, 73, also of Raeford, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and a safe movement violation, police said.
Outbound Raeford Road was closed just before Hoke Loop Road until 7 p.m.
