FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) - A 2-year-old girl who was found unresponsive in the family's pool on Wednesday has died at the hospital, officials say.
The toddler passed away shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday.
The 2-year-old girl was transported to Cape Fear Hospital in critical, yet stable condition after being pulled from the pool on Wednesday, officials said.
The Fayetteville Police Department confirmed the child was pulled from an above ground pool around 1:45 p.m. at a home on Nuthatch Road.
Family members found the toddler unconscious in the pool and began CPR until emergency personnel arrived.
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Youth Services Unit are investigating the incident.
