FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Cumberland County road was closed after a tractor-trailer crashed between two trees on Monday morning

The incident was reported after 11 a.m. in the 600 block of Middle Road near Fayetteville.

An 18-wheeler left the road and crashed, narrowly missing two trees, but still sustaining damage.

Crews were checking for gas leaks in the area and were repairing power lines after the crash.

The big rig that crashed appeared to be lodged between two trees.

As of 3:15 p.m., the road was still closed, according to a worker at a nearby equipment rental store.

There was no word on injuries or how the wreck happened.
