No one was hurt when a day spa in Fayetteville caught fire Saturday morning, officials say.

The blaze broke out around 6:50 a.m. at Renaissance Day Spa at 1534 Purdue Drive, according to a news release from Fayetteville fire officials.

“(The) first arriving unit reported a two-story, commercial structure with ‘fire showing’ from a first-floor window at the front of the structure,” the news release said.

Fire crews searched the building, which is near Chick-fil-A, to make sure no one was inside.

Water hoses were stretched across Purdue Drive, which was closed during the fire-fighting efforts.

As of 8 a.m. the fire was still underway, but crews said it was under control.

In addition to the day spa, three other units were “heavily damaged” in the building, the news release said.
