FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Tuesday marked three years since a man was shot to death in a parking lot in Fayetteville. Police said they know who the gunman is, but that man is still on the run.

Emanual Montez Blowe was gunned down in a strip club parking lot on Bragg Boulevard in 2016.

Three years later, his mother, Sharon Blowe, visits his grave. She still hopes to find justice for her son.

“I just pray that he gets justice, that he didn’t die in vain,” Blowe said. “I know they’re going to catch that guy sooner or later, but I don’t understand what’s taking so long. It’s frustrating because today is the three-year mark, and it seems they would’ve found him by now. Somebody out there knows something. They know something.”

Almost immediately after her son’s murder, police say the evidence, witnesses, and security video led them to Derek Tolliver. He’s charged with murder, but he’s been on the run for three years.

“We’ve been working with the U.S Marshal’s office and they’d received numerous tips over a three-year period of him being out of state, even tips of him being here in Fayetteville, North Carolina — all of which have not panned out,” said Homicide Detective Specialist Daniel Johnson.

Police said they’re still looking for any information to close this case while Blowe’s family hopes for justice.

“It’s just hard for the whole family, it’s hard,” said Sharon Blowe.
