Man arrested for attempting to break into Fayetteville Police Department, officials say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) - A man has been arrested after he tried to break into the Fayetteville Police Department, a Facebook post from the department said.

Officers responded to an attempted break-in around 1:23 a.m. Wednesday, the post said. Ron Goins, 42, was taken into custody.

The post said Goins caused damage to the front doors. He was unable to gain entry.

Goins is charged with attempted breaking and entering, as well as intoxicated and disruptive, the post said. He's being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
