Police ID gunman in Spring Lake store robbery

SPRING LAKE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police have identified the gunman who they say robbed a Family Dollar Store on March 30.

The incident was reported around 8:40 p.m. at the store at 205 North Bragg Boulevard, according to the news release.

Detectives have secured warrants for 59-year-old Angelo Epps.  Epps is charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of kidnapping in connection with this incident.  

Video cameras caught Epps entering the business with a handgun and robbing the employees of an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.

Epps last known residence is located in Fayetteville NC, but he may also have ties to New Jersey.   

Police consider Epps to be armed and dangerous.
