Police say a dead woman found near a Fayetteville playground Friday had been beaten on her head and face.

The incident was discovered along the 200 block of North Windsor Drive near Windsor Park just before 11:30 a.m., according to Fayetteville police.

On Sunday, police identified the woman as Tyesha Williams, 25, of Central Drive in Fayetteville.

“Williams suffered injuries consisting of blunt force trauma to her head and face,” a news release from Fayetteville police said.

Police say a passerby found the woman’s body just a few yards away from where kids play and take the bus.

The passerby called 911 about an unresponsive woman in a ditch near the playground.

There are no arrests or suspects yet. Police said Sunday a reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in the case.

Anyone with any information regarding the death is asked to contact Detective C.
