FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A road in Fayetteville was shut down Friday morning after a water main break flooded the roadway, according to Fayetteville police.

Officers and the Fayetteville Fire Department responded to reports of a water main break at approximately 3:40 a.m. in the area of Strickland Bridge Road and Carloway Drive.

Due to the amount of water in the road, Strickland Bridge Road was shut down.

Police said that residents in the area may experience water issues during the repair. They did not specify what issues people could experience.

Any questions regarding the water should be directed to the Fayetteville Public Works Commission, police said.
