FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police have made an arrest after a man was shot inside a Fayetteville motel and pronounced dead at the hospital Sunday evening.
Taloria McDonald, 43, of the 4300 block of Bragge Boulevard, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, police said.
Police also identified the victim as 57-year-old Roger Jones.
McDonald is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
A man who was shot in a motel room in Fayetteville died Sunday evening, police say.
The incident was reported just before 7:35 p.m. at the Tropical Motel at 4306 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville police said in a news release.
Police learned of the shooting when someone called 911.
When police arrived in a motel room, they found a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
“Detectives are currently interviewing all parties involved,” the news release said. “The male victim and the shooter were acquaintances at the time of the incident.”
The name of the victim is being withheld until police can notify his immediate family.
