ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) – A HAZMAT team has been called in to investigate what the Nash County Sheriff’s Office said was a “suspicious material” on Interstate-95 on Wednesday.

The right lane of I-95 north is closed near exit 132, which is Sandy Cross Road, southwest of Rocky Mount as the substance is being examined.

The sheriff’s office did not say how long the lane would be closed.
