DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A 34-year-old man turned himself in after Durham police said he shot and killed a man during an argument Thursday afternoon.

Roland Richardson Jr., 34, of Durham surrendered to police Thursday night, authorities said.

He was charged with murder in the death of 22-year-old Gregory Shaw Jr., Durham police confirmed.

Officers responded to a shooting call shortly after 2 p.m. along the 900 block of Fayetteville Street near Old Fayetteville Street.

Shaw was found dead in a parking lot, police confirmed.

Family members spoke to CBS 17 and said Shaw rode his dirt bike to Fayetteville Street to get some lunch at the BBQ stand.

Within a matter of minutes, they said there was a confrontation before he was shot and killed.

Shaw’s death marked the second killing in Durham in two days.

A 21-year-old man was found Wednesday night suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital, police said.
