DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – One man was arrested and one person is still at large after a barricade situation following an armed robbery in the 800 block of Eva Street Saturday morning.

Durham police responded to the armed robbery that happened in the 900 block of Holloway Street, near North Alston Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

The victim of the robbery reported being robbed of cash at gunpoint by the two suspects, who were witnessed running to a home in the 800 block of Eva Street.

Officers attempted a “knock and talk” at the home but the suspects locked the door and barricaded themselves inside, police say.

The Hostage Negotiation Team and Selective Enforcement Team responded to the barricade situation.

Occupants surrendered around 7:15 a.m. and officers did not locate any firearms inside the home.

One of the people in the home, Anthony Jones, 40, was charged with armed robbery.

The other occupant was not involved in the crime, police said.

At some point, the second armed robbery suspect fled and is still on the run, police said.
