6 arrested in Durham prostitution bust

Durham police arrested six people on prostitution charges following an operation by the department’s Vice-Narcotics Unit.

The Unit took part in the operation after police received complaints from residents. 

Police arrested:

  •  Amy Garrett, 46, was arrested at Alston Avenue and Liberty Street and charged with solicitation for prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Antonio Thompson, 21, was arrested at Holloway Street and Briggs Avenue and charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • Pansy Gray, 51, was arrested at Holloway Street and Spruce Street and charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • Angela Mack, 44, was arrested at Lathrop Street and Briggs Avenue and charged with solicitation for prostitution and failure to appear on injury to property and trespassing charges.
  • Kimberly Williams, 30, was arrested at Holloway Street and Brye Street and charged with solicitation for prostitution and failure to appear in court on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle.
  •  Alphonso Nance, 23, was arrested at Holloway Street and Guthrie Avenue and charged with solicitation for prostitution.

Durham police said the Vice-Narcotics Unit was assisted by the Selective Enforcement Team, the Violent Incident Response Team, the Community Engagement Unit, the LGBTQ Liaison Officer, the Crisis Intervention Team and officers from Squad 1-D.

All those who were arrested were offered services from the Crisis Intervention Team.
