If you’ve been to downtown Durham lately then you know parking can be hard to come by, but the city is trying to keep up with parking needs, and they want your ideas to help with their plan.
While there’s usually no problem finding parking in early hours of the day, once the sun comes up drivers can find themselves going around in circles searching for a spot.
City leaders say they know parking in downtown Durham is in high demand and that’s why they’re working on a parking study in order to plan ahead for the next decade.
The city wants your input and they are going to have four open houses throughout the day Wednesday.
The first opportunity will be at 11 a.m., then at 1 p.m. then another at 4 p.m. and the final event at 6 p.m. in the Durham City Council Chambers at City Hall.
The four events will help answer questions that residents, business owners and anyone else may have. Attendees will also be able to see what the city has already come up with and give feedback on the project.
