RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham Public School worker was driving impaired when she caused a head-on crash on Glenwood Avenue Sunday night, arrest warrants and officials say.

Jeanna Jenning Joint, 37, of Durham was involved in the wreck late Sunday on Glenwood Avenue near Ebenezer Church Road, officials say.

The wreck happened as Joint was heading west in the eastbound lane around 11:35 p.m. Sunday, according to a magistrate’s order.

Joint, who works as the treasurer at Holt Elementary School, has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation, according to a Durham Public Schools spokesman.

Authorities said they found marijuana and that Joint tried to leave the scene after the wreck, which injured a man.
